1. Who we are and what these terms cover
- Skryve is a browser extension operated by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: skryve.support@gmail.com.
- These terms apply when you install or use Skryve. By signing in you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy at getskryve.com/privacy.
- If you buy Pro, these terms form the contract between us. The exception is customers outside the UK, US and Canada, who buy from our merchant-of-record partner (see §8.2).
2. What Skryve is
- Skryve produces AI-generated summaries, insights, frames, clips, topic outlines, comment analysis, answers to your questions, and search across the videos you have analysed, for YouTube and Rumble videos you choose.
- Skryve is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube, Google or Rumble. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
3. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy Pro.
- You need a Google account to sign in.
- One account per person; don't share your account.
- Don't create or use extra accounts to get more free credits, or to get around a limit or a suspension.
4. Your licence
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Skryve for your own viewing, study and note-taking.
- You may keep, export and share the summaries and notes Skryve makes for you, subject to §6.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Skryve through bots, scripts or automated or bulk requests, or try to bypass limits, plans or security;
- resell, scrape or redistribute Skryve's output, or the transcripts, comments or frames it fetches, as a product, dataset or public archive;
- use Skryve to break the terms of YouTube, Rumble or any other site, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- reverse engineer the service or its server, except where the law allows;
- use Skryve for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive.
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable, we'll tell you why first. If we close a paid account for a serious breach, no refund is due for the remaining period, except where the law requires one.
6. Video content belongs to its owners
- Transcripts, comments, thumbnails, frames and videos belong to their creators and the platforms.
- Skryve shows short extracts and low-resolution frames to help you understand a video. They are for your personal use, and you are responsible for how you use or share anything you export.
- Copyright complaints: if you believe something Skryve stores or shows infringes your copyright, email skryve.support@gmail.com with the video link and what you own. We'll look into it.
7. AI output
- Summaries, frames, clips and answers ("output") are generated automatically by AI models.
- They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and can misstate or miss what a video says or shows. The same video or question can give different output on different days.
- Check the video, and reliable sources, before relying on anything, and before sharing output with others.
- Skryve's output is general information only. It is not medical, health, fitness, nutrition, dietary, legal, financial, investment, tax, safety or other professional advice.
- Don't use it in place of a qualified professional.
- Don't follow a workout, recipe, repair, dosage or other instruction from output without checking the original video and your own circumstances.
- Output reflects the videos it is made from, not our views. We don't endorse any video, creator, product, place, claim or advice that output mentions.
- You are responsible for decisions you make using output, and for how you use and share it.
8. Plans and payment
8.1 Free plan (free trial)
- Every new account gets 200 free credits, once. That's about 16 hours of video.
- What uses credits: analysing a video costs 1 credit per 5 minutes of its length (to the nearest credit, at least 1), a question costs 1 and a comment analysis costs 6.
- What's free: reopening a video already in your own history, and searching your history. A video costs credits even if someone else has already analysed it.
- Credits are taken when the work starts and given back if it fails.
- Free credits don't reset or expire, have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- When they run out:
- new videos, questions and comment analyses need Pro;
- videos already in your history still open and stay searchable.
- Free credits are given once per account. They don't come back after a Pro plan ends.
- We may change free limits and features to keep the service running. If we do, what you have already been given is not taken away.
8.2 Pro
- Price: the current price is shown on our pricing page and at checkout, in your local currency where we offer it. Outside the UK, US and Canada, local tax is added at checkout.
- One subscription per account: an account can have one Pro subscription at a time.
- Credits: Pro includes 2,000 credits a month, at the same costs as in 8.1. They reset on the same day each month, and unused credits don't carry over. We show your balance in the extension. Pro is not unlimited.
- Who sells it:
- UK, US and Canadian customers: we are the seller, and our payment provider processes the payment.
- Customers in other countries: Pro is sold by our merchant-of-record partner, named at checkout. Its terms apply to the purchase, refunds and tax for that sale. These terms still govern your use of Skryve.
- We never receive or store your full card details.
- Auto-renewal:
- Pro renews automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel.
- Price changes: we'll tell you at least 30 days before a change applies to your next renewal. You can cancel before it does.
- Cancel any time:
- In Account → Manage subscription, which opens the billing page of whoever sold you Pro, or email us.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Pro pauses straight away and its credits can't be used. We retry the payment for up to about two weeks. If it's paid, Pro comes back on its own; if not, the subscription ends. Your history stays available either way.
- Refunds and chargebacks: please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank.
- If a payment is refunded in full, or disputed with your bank, Pro ends straight away.
- While a dispute is open, the account can't buy Pro again until the dispute is withdrawn or decided in our favour, or we clear it.
9. Cancellation rights and refunds
9.1 Refunds
- Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund (see 9.2–9.3) or these terms say otherwise.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current period.
9.2 UK consumers: the 14-day right to cancel
- By law you usually have 14 days to cancel a contract made online.
- Pro gives you immediate access to digital content. At checkout you ask us to start Pro straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once it starts. We confirm this in your receipt email.
- If the law treats Pro as a service rather than digital content, you may still cancel within 14 days. We will refund the unused share of what you paid, measured in credits: the price × (1 − credits used ÷ credits included in the period paid for).
- Customers outside the UK who buy from our merchant-of-record partner have the partner's cancellation and refund terms for that purchase (see 8.2).
- To cancel, email skryve.support@gmail.com or use any clear statement.
9.3 Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under consumer law, including the right to a repair, replacement or refund if Skryve is faulty or not as described.
10. Your account and data
- You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account. This cancels any active subscription immediately, without a refund for the remaining period unless 9.1–9.3 applies, and deletes your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
- We may delete free accounts that haven't been used for 6 months, after emailing you first.
11. Availability and changes to Skryve
- Skryve depends on YouTube, Rumble, AI providers and other services we don't control. Features may stop working, change or become unavailable when they change.
- We aim for good availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what Pro offers, we'll tell you, and you can cancel and get a refund of the unused part of your current period.
- If we discontinue Skryve, we'll give at least 30 days' notice where possible and refund unused prepaid Pro time.
12. Third-party services
- Who provides what:
- sign-in is provided by Google;
- payments by our payment provider and merchant-of-record partner;
- videos by YouTube and Rumble.
- Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We aren't responsible for their services, content or availability.
- Videos, transcripts and comments are third-party content. We don't control, check or endorse them.
13. Our responsibility to you
- Skryve is provided "as is" and "as available".
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms and those the law implies and does not let us exclude.
- In particular, we don't promise that Skryve or its output will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.
- If you are a consumer:
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses (lost profit, business or opportunity), since Skryve is for personal use.
- Limit:
- Unless the law says otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if you haven't paid anything.
- This limit doesn't apply where the law forbids it.
- Never excluded:
- liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- liability for fraud;
- liability for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, including your statutory consumer rights.
- AI output: we aren't liable for decisions you make relying on AI output (see §7), except to the extent the loss was caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
- Events outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at platforms, AI providers or hosting.
- Third-party content: we aren't responsible for videos, transcripts, comments or other content made by others, or for anything you do with it.
- If you use Skryve for business:
- These terms are written for personal use. If you use Skryve for business, trade or professional purposes, then to the fullest extent the law allows:
- we exclude all liability for indirect or consequential loss and for loss of profit, revenue, business, data, goodwill or opportunity;
- all implied terms are excluded;
- our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Any claim must be brought within 12 months of the event it arises from.
- These terms are written for personal use. If you use Skryve for business, trade or professional purposes, then to the fullest extent the law allows:
13A. If you misuse Skryve
If you are using Skryve for business, or to the extent the law allows otherwise, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable losses, costs and legal fees we incur because of a claim by someone else that arises from:
- your breach of these terms;
- your misuse of Skryve or its output;
- content you submit;
- your infringement of someone else's rights.
This doesn't apply to the extent the claim was caused by us.
14. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
- Please contact us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly.
15. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms, for example for new features, legal requirements or prices.
- We'll show a notice in the extension and, for changes that matter, email you at least 30 days before they take effect.
- If you don't agree, you can cancel before then, and we'll refund any unused prepaid Pro time.
16. General
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over Skryve, and we'll tell you; this won't reduce your rights.
- If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Skryve.
